The EGX Series external gear pump from Shubham Industries, Ahmedabad, is a positive displacement rotary pump for viscous liquid transfer where cast iron is compatible. It covers 5 LPM to 500 LPM, pressure up to 10 Kg/cm², viscosities up to 10,000 cSt, and 1/4 inch to 3 inch BSP ports. Standard temperature is 90°C, with modified high-temperature review up to 250°C.

How It Works
How the EGX External Gear Pump Transfers Viscous Fluid
An external gear pump uses two intermeshing gears inside a close-tolerance casing. On the suction side, unmeshing gear teeth create expanding cavities that draw liquid in. Fluid is carried around the outside diameter of the gears to the discharge side, where meshing teeth collapse the cavities and force liquid out under pressure. Flow is proportional to speed, and viscosity directly affects slip, motor HP, and speed selection.
Viscosity Matters
Higher viscosity can reduce internal slip but increases torque. Viscosity at pumping temperature must be confirmed.
Built-In Relief Valve
The built-in relief valve helps protect the pump and line from over-pressure. It is not a substitute for correct system design.
