The SPF Series from Shubham Industries, Ahmedabad, is a self-priming centrifugal pump built around a custom-fabricated SS-304 or SS-316 chamber that retains liquid between shutdown and restart. This chamber, combined with the correct non-return valve and impeller selection, lets the pump self-prime without a foot valve or external priming arrangement. Round or square chamber formats, disc or flap NRV, and closed, semi-open, or open impeller options allow the SPF to cover clean liquid, dirty water, mud, sanitary, sticky, and chemical transfer duties. The published range covers capacities up to 500 M³/hr, heads from 3 m to 76 m, and delivery sizes from 12 mm to 100 mm, in monoblock or bare-pump construction. All wetted parts are fabricated from SS-304 or SS-316 sheet. Manufactured at Kuha, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, ISO 9001:2015 certified since 1987.

How It Works

How the SPF SS Fabricated Chamber Enables Self-Priming Without a Foot Valve

A standard centrifugal pump cannot self-prime once the suction line empties. The SPF Series solves this by placing a fabricated stainless-steel chamber between the suction inlet and the pump casing. That chamber retains liquid between shutdown and restart, so the pump can draw from the stored liquid and re-establish prime without a foot valve or manual filling.

The Fabricated SS Chamber

A fabricated SS-304 or SS-316 sheet chamber stays filled between pump cycles, creating the liquid reserve needed for automatic restart without priming by hand.

Flap vs Disc NRV

Flap NRV is selected for dirty or solids-bearing liquid because it resists clogging. Disc NRV is selected for crystal clear liquid where tighter sealing improves priming efficiency.

When SPF May Not Be the Right Choice

For hot oil or thermic fluid, specify TFC. For highly viscous fluids above the practical centrifugal range, specify LBX or PCS. For submerged installation below the water surface, specify OWS. For very high flow above 500 M³/hr, specify SCH. Chemical compatibility with SS-304 or SS-316 must always be confirmed before final selection.
