Why Split Casing
A horizontal split casing centrifugal pump has its casing divided along a horizontal plane through the shaft centreline. This design provides complete access to the rotating assembly - impeller, shaft, bearings, and seal - without disturbing the suction and discharge pipework connected to the pump. For high-flow pumping stations handling thousands of cubic metres per hour, this translates to dramatically faster maintenance turnaround and lower lifecycle cost compared to end-suction designs of the same capacity.
Full rotor access by removing the top casing half. Suction and discharge pipework stays connected, reducing downtime in continuous-duty pumping stations.
Split casing and double-entry hydraulic design supports extremely high flow rates up to 18,000 M³/hr for large water and infrastructure duty.
High head SCH configurations use double volute casing to balance radial hydraulic forces, reducing bearing load and shaft deflection.
Configure SCH Series
This requirement builder helps Shubham Industries engineers assess your SCH split casing high flow duty. It does not select an exact model or commercial terms; final selection depends on flow, head, speed, stage requirement, NPSH, MOC, seal arrangement, foundation, and site piping.
Available Arrangements
SCH supply arrangements are selected around high-flow duty, speed, stage requirement, foundation, and site piping. Split casing and coupled-with-motor images are available; other arrangement images are shown as clean placeholders until confirmed.

Applications
The SCH Series split casing high flow pump is specified for large-scale water supply, irrigation, industrial cooling, fire fighting, and infrastructure projects where high volumetric flow, sustained reliability, and ease of maintenance are critical requirements. The split casing design makes it the preferred pump type for permanent pumping stations and industrial cooling tower circuits handling thousands of cubic metres per hour.
Large-scale water supply infrastructure, municipal distribution, high-lift stations, and water treatment plant transfer. Horizontal and vertical execution available for diverse civil installation formats.
Large agricultural and project irrigation, high-flow field supply, canal lift stations, and distribution networks. Capacities up to 18,000 M³/hr serve the largest irrigation schemes.
Circulating water systems for cooling towers, HVAC large-scale chilled water loops, air conditioning plant cooling, and process cooling water distribution in industrial facilities.
Process water circulation and cooling water supply in paper and pulp manufacturing. High-flow continuous-duty service where split casing supports uptime and fast maintenance access.
High-flow transfer within water treatment and effluent treatment plants. Pump station duty for raw water intake, process transfer, and treated water distribution.
High-flow fire suppression systems for industrial plants, ports, refineries, and large commercial facilities. Split casing construction delivers sustained flow and pressure for fire system duty.
Process water circulation, cooling water supply, and utility water distribution in sugar processing and vegetable oil refining facilities.
3-stage HSC configuration for condensed extraction service - up to 170 m head and up to 350 M³/hr capacity. Used for thermal power plant and process steam condensate extraction duty.
For corrosive acids, alkalis, or chemical process fluids, specify CPP, FLC, RLC, or SCC depending on fluid and duty. For slurry, solids, or dirty water with particles, specify SPM Self-Priming Mud Pump. For thermic fluid or hot oil service, specify TFC. For hygienic food, dairy, or pharmaceutical duty, specify SCS. For small flow, high-head applications in compact installations, CMB or SCC are more appropriate. Share your duty details before finalising selection.
Selection Guide
Selecting the right pump for high-flow duty requires matching casing design, flow range, and installation format to the application. The following comparisons cover the most common decision points between the SCH Series and other Shubham Industries pump series.
The ILC Inline Centrifugal Pump is designed for space-constrained circulating applications up to 280 M³/hr where the inline piping format is required. The SCH handles flows many times larger - up to 18,000 M³/hr - and is installed on a baseplate external to the piping. Choose ILC when inline piping and compact footprint are the priority; choose SCH for high-volume pumping station duty.
View ILC SeriesThe CMB is a cast iron monoblock centrifugal pump for small-to-medium clear water utility applications. The SCH is a large-scale split casing pump designed for capacities hundreds of times greater. For high-volume water supply, irrigation canal, or industrial cooling circuit duty, SCH is the correct specification.
View CMB SeriesThe SCC is a stainless steel centrifugal pump for industrial chemical and process duty at moderate flow and head ranges. The SCH covers significantly higher flow rates with split casing construction optimised for large water and process fluid pumping duty. Choose SCC for chemical and industrial process fluid; choose SCH for high-flow water, cooling, and infrastructure applications.
View SCC SeriesThe SCH is designed for large-volume clean water and process fluid pumping where the pump can be flooded-suction installed. The SPM Self-Priming Mud Pump handles dirty water, slurry, sand, and solids in suspension and self-primes without a foot valve. Never use SCH for solids-laden or slurry duty.

View SeriesCommon Questions
A split casing centrifugal pump has its casing divided into two halves along a horizontal plane through the shaft centreline. The upper half can be removed to provide complete access to the impeller, shaft, bearings, and seal without disconnecting the suction or discharge pipework. This design is preferred for high-flow duty because it minimises maintenance downtime - critical in pumping stations handling tens of thousands of cubic metres per hour. The SCH Series from Shubham Industries covers flows up to 18,000 M³/hr and heads up to 270 m.
